Odisha's in-principle approval to three investment proposals

The Odisha government today accorded in-principle approval to three investment proposals worth Rs 420 crore.
The State Level single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) cleared the projects and its chairman Chief Secretary A P Padhi suggested Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha and State Level Technical committee to promote more employment intensive and downstream industries in the state.
The approved projects included the proposal of Grid Construction Ltd to set up 60000 IPA Aluminium and Aluminium conductors manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 127.35 crore in Angul Almunium Park at Angul. This unit would provide direct employment to 50 persons.
The other two projects are Som distilleries & Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd's proposal to set up 10 lakh hectoliters capacity brewing industry and 10.8 lakh hectoliters per annum capacity bottling plant near Khurda at a total investment of Rs 193 Crore.
The proposal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to set up a LPG bottling plant at Bolangir at a total investment of Rs 100 crore also got the SLSWCA's approval. These two plants are expected to create 493 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The SLSWCA along with the members of the State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG) also reviewed the progress of earlier approved investment proposals.
The reviewed projects included transmission mining projects of Odisha Mining Corporation, construction of 220 KV transmission line from Laxmipur to Damanjodi by Nalco, Tosali Cement, Aditya almunium project, Bhusan steel, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd and Emami Cement.
The issues relating to land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach road, DGPS survey, power supply, use of water were discussed and resolved in the meeting, said Kalyan Mohanty, IPICOL general manager.
