The Odisha government on Thursday announced it will set up four new family courts to ensure speedy disposal of cases.
Law Minister Pratap Jena said the new courts will be set up in Angul, Rayagada, Boudh and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The state government had on December 10 decided to set up 45 fast track courts to ensure timely conviction in cases related to sexual harassment.
Of the 45 new fast track courts, 24 will specifically deal with the POCSO cases while the trial in rape cases will be held in the remaining 21 courts.
