Sanaa, Feb 19 (AP) A Yemeni official says a military plane on a training exercise crashed into a neighbourhood in the country's capital, Sanaa, killing and injuring scores of people. A spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Mohammed al-Mawry, says the plane crashed into two houses in the al-Qadissiya district today. He did not give a reason for the crash but said military experts are investigating the incident. An eyewitness, Ahmed Fathi, says he saw five burnt corpses taken away by an ambulance. Fathi, who lives in the neighbourhood, also says two houses were completely destroyed and that people were still believed to be under the rubble. The neighbourhood is close to the main city square that was the epicenter of Yemen's uprising and protests. (AP) ASY 02192011 NNNN
