Officials asked to take steps on pending cases under SC/ST Act

District Collectors and Superintendents of Police in Telangana were today asked to take appropriate measures on pending cases concerning the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Chief Secretary S K Joshi Joshi, who held a video conference with the officials, said they should specially review the matter and resolve the pending cases expeditiously, a state government release said.

The officials should ensure that the victims get compensation at the earliest, he said.

The National SC/ST Commission reviews the cases under the Act, he said.

State DGP Mahender Reddy also addressed the officials.

General Administration department Principal Secretary Adhar Sinha urged the district collectors to take steps for organising Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2 on a grand scale.
