Officials inspect meat export unit after farmers' complaint

Officials of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, ADM (administration) Ramkishan Sharma and SP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma inspected the meat exporting unit at Dasna, officials said.

The move was taken after farmers of the area complained that blood and other wastes being directly discharged into the agricultural canal from the industry was harming their paddy and wheat crops, they said.

The visiting officials said irregularities were found in the industry and a notice will soon be issued against it.
