Ola integrates TaxiForSure hatchbacks on its app

Taxi service aggregator Ola today said its users in Delhi and Mumbai can now book hatchbacks of TaxiForSure through its app, a move aimed at making more vehicles available to consumers.
Customers will be able to book TaxiForSure hatchback cabs with fares starting at Rs 49 through the Ola app by clicking on the TFS icon that will appear as a new category.
In March this year, Ola had acquired TaxiForSure in a USD 200 million deal (around Rs 1,260 crores). TaxiForSure has a fleet of 24,000 vehicles in the country, of which about 50 per cent are hatchbacks.
"By bringing TaxiForSure hatchbacks onto the Ola app, we have unlocked complimentary value. While this will help us in terms of making more vehicles available to our customers, the end-user will also have more choice," Ola Chief Operating Officer Pranay Jivrajka told PTI.

He added that drivers on the TFS platform will also be able to serve more customers straight from the Ola platform.
Ola, which offers Ola Mini in a similar category, currently charges Rs 100 as base fare.

"The new feature is going live in Delhi and Mumbai to begin with and to other cities like Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune in a phased manner over the next few weeks," he said.
However, customers would be able to book a TaxiForSure cab only through the 'Ride Now' option on the Ola app and will have to pay in cash only.
"TaxiForSure is working aggressively towards becoming the brand of choice for millions of customers. For the year, our target is to serve 20 million customers," TaxiForSure CEO Arvind Singhal said.
