The rent for the building at Brahmadesam in the district was not paid since April.
When the building owner Muthulingam approached Mukundan, the manager, for settling the rent arrears he demanded bribe.
On a complaint, the DVAC officials asked Muthulingam to handover the bribe money of Rs 50,000 to Mukundan and caught him red handed.
He had been remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Cuddalore prison.
