One dies of sunstroke, several suffer burns

A 60-year-old man has died of sunstroke here, official sources said today.
The official sources said Ramadevan might have died of burns under sunlight, dehydration and heart-attack yesterday.
However, the exact cause of death and intensity of the sunstroke could be ascertained only on receipt of forensic laboratory examination report, the sources said.
In all 17 persons so far suffered burns under the sunlight in the district and none of them was in a serious condition, the sources said.
The temperature in the district recorded was three degree Celsius higher than the last year, according to the Kerala Agricultural University's Meteorological Sources.

The district recorded 37.6 degree Celsius temperature today as against last year's 34.6 degree Celsius temperature recorded this day, the sources said. On an average, the temperature recorded in the district so far was two degree Celsius more than that of the last year, the sources said.
