A group of ten doctors from Solpaur had come to the backwaters of Ujani dam near Agoti village in Indapur tehsil for a picnic, an official of Pune district police said.
"They boarded a boat, meant for fishing, and ventured into the water. They themselves sailed the boat and there was no boatman," said police inspector, Sajjan Hankare of Indapur police station.
He said after some time the boat capsized.
"After the boat capsized, all ten drowned, however, six doctors managed to came back to the shore of the dam, while four drowned," he added.
