One killed, 7 injured as goods train collides with engine

One person was killed and seven others were injured today when a goods train collided with an engine near here, railway officials said.
The incident took place at Sirajnagar, 40 km from here, in Mushidabad district when the engine hit the goods train coming on the same track from opposite direction, they said.
The driver of the engine died on the spot. The injured were either occupants of the engine or the front cabin of the goods train.
The injured were admitted to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital, SP Humayun Kabir said.
