Patna City SP Satyaveer Singh said the incident happened near Gauraiya Sthan at Maner at four in the morning.
"It was dark and the speeding vehicle escaped after hitting the group of persons. The police is searching for the vehicle and its driver," the City SP said.
Maner Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Kumar Singh said a group of people was having tea at a teashop when the speeding truck coming from the direction of the state capital hit them and escaped without halting.
