One person was killed and four women were injured in explosion in Gaurav Fireworks in City Kotwali police station area, Superintendent of police Ratan Kumar Srivastava said.
The injured have been referred to a Kanpur hospital, he said adding that efforts were on to ascertain the cause of explosion.
The deceased has not yet been identified yet, he said.
