A man was killed and a woman injured in an explosion at an illegal firecracker factory at Aungarh locality here, the police said today.
The factory was being run in a house at Aungarh area where huge quantity of explosive material was stocked, they said.
In the explosion, Vicky (24) died on the spot while the woman, Veena, received burn injuries, the police said.
She was admitted to the civil hospital, they said, adding the reason behind the explosion was yet to be ascertained.
