One killed, seven injured in wild boar attack

A wild boar ran amok today killing a 58-year-old man and leaving seven others injured before it was shot dead by district forest officials.
Abdul Salam died of injuries suffered in the attack this morning at Kumaranallur in the district, police said.
The injured were being treated at Kozhikode Medical hospital, police said, adding, the animal was shot dead by forest department officials.
The District Collector has announced a solatium of Rs five lakh to the family of the victim.
