One student drowns in Kansabati river

One student drowned today in Kansabati river when he went to take bath in the river with seven of his friends in Midnapore town.
"Prasenit Dey (23), an examinee taking the final examination of primary school teachers' training course died when he and another girl went missing in the river water this afternoon," Additional Superintendent of Police Abdhesh Pathak said.
The girl was rescued later and the body of Dey was fished out of the water by local divers, the police said.
A resident of Madhpur near Khargapur, Dey was staying in Midnapore town to take the examination with his friends.
