Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today flayed Jammu and Kashmir government for "insensitiveness" and "inefficiency" in tackling the situation in the aftermath of snowfall in the Valley.
"The snowfall has exposed the governance failure and administrative mismanagement in the state," senior PDP leader and former Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Karra said.
Karra, who is the party's parliamentary candidate for Srinagar constituency, alleged that the "inability" of the government to tackle the situation after the snow has brought huge hardships to the common masses.
"The non-availability of the ration, LPG and other essential commodities have worsened the situation," he said.
In a separate statement, State Secretary CPI (M) M Y Tarigami asked the state administration to act swiftly to offset hardships of the people.
"The snow is yet to be cleared on many roads and major road network in rural areas across the Valley is yet to see the traffic plying, resulting into tremendous inconvenience for the general public," he said.
Meanwhile, in Jammu, the PDP today alleged that the state government was a "failure" and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been repeating the "blunders" which were committed by earlier NC regimes in the state from 1996 to 2002.
"NC-led coalition regime is total failure on all fronts. Chief Minister has been repeating the same blunders which were committed by earlier NC regimes in the state", PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Yashpal Sharma said while addressing a function at Baway Wali Gali in the city.
