Rao started his padayatra yesterday.
A release from his office said that Rao, a former Revenue minister of Puducherry, who had been holding the lone constituency in Yanam in all elections he contested since 1996 to the territorial Assembly, commenced his journey after worshipping at various shrines in Yanam
He is accompanied by his wife and his son and around 3000 volunteers.He would reach Antarvedi tomorrow and offer worship at the 15th century shrine of Lakshminarashima Swamy there.
He would return to Yanam on January 26 after praying to the presiding deity in the shrine. The total distance between Yanam and Antarvedi is around 80 kms.
