Continuing their tirade against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for his controversial comments on drought and loadshedding, Opposition in the Maharashtra legislative assembly walked out of the house when he rose to speak.
Pawar was responding to a query regarding report of a house committee which was tabled in the house.
The Deputy Chief Minister had to cut short his reply after the Opposition members walked out.
Sudhir Mungantiwar (BJP) termed the opposition's action as their 'atma-klesh' (penance) agitation.
"Ajit Pawar ended his penance in one day. But, we will continue it as we are hurt by his comments directed at the drought-affected people," he added.
Under fire for his controversial comments on loadshedding and drought, Pawar on Sunday had undertaken a token fast as "penance" for his crass "urinating-in-the-dam" statement that belittled the tragedy of Maharashtra's farmers facing the worst drought in decades.
