The agitation by Osmania University students against Telangana government's decision to "regularise" the contract employees in various departments continued for the third consecutive day here today.
Instead of regularisation of the jobs of contract employees, government should issue a notification for recruitment, so that other aspirants too can apply, according to the students.
The students took out a procession from Arts College towards Tarnaka Cross Roads, but police stopped them from going further, Inspector AVR Narasimha Rao said.
The protesters burnt an effigy and shouted slogans.
Earlier, a group of students gheraoed Telangana Ministers Harish Rao and G Jagadish Reddy near the City College, however police intervened and dispersed the protesters, police said.
