Instead of regularisation of the jobs of contract employees, government should issue a notification for recruitment, so that other aspirants too can apply, according to the students.
The students took out a procession from Arts College towards Tarnaka Cross Roads, but police stopped them from going further, Inspector AVR Narasimha Rao said.
The protesters burnt an effigy and shouted slogans.
Earlier, a group of students gheraoed Telangana Ministers Harish Rao and G Jagadish Reddy near the City College, however police intervened and dispersed the protesters, police said.
