Over 120 entries have been received for the inaugural edition of the Rotary Cup All-India Ranking Championship Series Under-14 Tennis Tournament 2017 to be played here over the week-end.
The Series, to be organised by the Rotary Club of Bombay Midcity (district 3141) in association with All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), will be played at the MSLTA's GA Ranade Tennis Centre here on February 11 and 12.
"Over 120 participants, both boys and girls, have already registered to play in this tournament. With online registrations still open we expect the number of entries to increase. The MSLTA officials will decide on the limit of entries to be accepted," Bharat Parekh, President of Rotary Club, was quoted as saying in a media release.
Leading players from across India are going to take part in the two-day event. The last date of registration for the tournament is February 10, said the release.
"There will be two events, boys and girls' singles. The initial rounds will be of one set, but the final rounds will be played over three sets. AITA ranking points will be awarded to winners and runners-up," Parekh added.
