District excise team comprising excise inspector Upinder Singh and others arrested the accused Ravinder while his brother Sanjay managed to escape.
An FIR has been lodged at Sector 20 police station, District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said.
The excise team recovered 33 cartons of smuggled liquor from the accused's car and 20 cartons from his jhuggi at sector 10, the officer said.
There were 2544 bottles of liquor in 53 cartons, he said.
