Over 31% rides in Delhi-NCR on UberPOOL: Uber

Transportation app Uber today said over 31 per cent of the rides on its platform in Delhi-NCR are shared under its 'UberPOOL' offering.
Available in 5 other Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, UberPOOL accounts for over 20 per cent of the rides in these cities.
"UberPOOL enables people going the same way at the same time to share their journey. The aim is to get more people in fewer cars in order to address the increasing congestion and pollution issues in India's top cities," Uber said in a statement.

redBus launches new 'Bus Hire' feature

* Online bus ticket booking platform redBus today launched a a new service 'Bus Hire' to enable customers to hire buses for corporate outings, weddings and pilgrimages.

The platform will provide transparent and all-inclusive prices along with value added information such as bus photos and payment options to help customers make a choice, it said in a statement.
The service is presently available in seven cities in the country in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Ahmedabad.

GE Power bags Rs 199 cr order from NTPC Alstom Power Service * GE Power India has won a contract of nearly Rs 199 crore from NTPC Alstom Power Service for a steam turbine upgrade project at NTPC's Ramagundam power plant in Telangana.
The company's scope of work consists of supply of steam turbine module, it auxiliaries, turbine controller and spares including supervision of erection, commissioning and testing, the GE Power India said in a BSE filing today.
