During the drive, which was held between 7 PM to midnight last night, 420 drunk drivers were prosecuted and 363 vehicles were impounded. The police also prosecuted 131 owners of the vehicle, which were driven by those found guilty of drunken driving.
All TI Circles and ACP's Districts were present during the drive. It was ensured that all violators are being provided with fresh blow pipe while conducting breath test.
"Besides prosecuting them, violators were also directed to attend a counselling session at Traffic Police Headquarters today at 4 PM, where they attended educational lectures and were shown short films on drunken driving," said Anil Shukla, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
