A Food and Supplies Department spokesman today said government agencies have procured 64.81 lakh MT of wheat whereas, 2,788 MT of wheat have been purchased by traders.
He said HAFED has purchased the highest quantity of 25.12 lakh MT of wheat followed by over 17.95 lakh MT purchased by Food and Supplies Department.
Similarly, Agro Industries Corporation has purchased over 5.76 lakh MT, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 6.34 lakh MT, CONFED over 1.62 lakh MT and Food Corporation of India over 7.99 lakh MT of wheat so far during current procurement season.
He said farmers have been asked to bring dry and properly cleaned wheat in the mandis so that they might not face any difficulty in selling their produce.
