Over 88,000 USD recovered from a bus

An amount of 88,200 USD was recovered from a bus by BSF jawans in an area under Chapra police station in Nadia district, an official said today.
Acting on a tip off, the bus from Krishnanagar was intercepted by BSF jawans and recovered the money worth Rs about Rs 57 lakh from an unclaimed bag yesterday.
The notes were in the denomination of 100 USD.
The seized notes were handed over to the Customs Superintendent, Tehatta, Sekhar Kumar Das.
Seven persons were detained for interrogation, he said.
