A day after he was allegedly manhandled by a local SP MLA, an assistant engineer in the PACFED today threatened to move the court for "justice", claiming that his complaint was not registered by the police.
Hargovind Chaubey, AE in Processing and Construction Co-operative Limited, yesterday lodged a complaint with Kotwali police station here, alleging that MLA Narad Rai was pressurising him to give construction contract to one of his close aides besides asking for Rs 20 lakhs.
Chaubey, in the complaint, alleged that he had received a phone call from Sunil Rai, an aide of the MLA, who asked him to immediately stop an ongoing construction works in a district hospital.
Later, he received another call asking him to come to the district hospital where he was "humiliated" by the MLA's men and the legislator himself "dragged" him to the CMS office and threatened him, Chaubey said in the complaint.
Today, Chaubey told reporters that he will approach court for "justice" as police has not registered a case on his complaint.
The officer also threatened to lodge a defamation case against a SP leader, for his alleged charges that he has acquired wealth disproportionate to his known source of income.
MLA Rai, however, rejected all the charges of Chaubey saying he never manhandled or dragged him in the district hospital nor asked him to give construction contract to any individual.
Rai told reporters that he was being "defamed under a conspiracy".
Meanwhile, the engineer has found support in BJP MLA from the district, Upendra Tewari, who questioned the intentions of the administration which has not yet lodged a case against the SP MLA.
