As per the joint agreement signed among the partners of the PWA, the CPI would contest eight seats, VCK seven, CPI(M) and MDMK four seats each and RSP one.
The alliance would support Independents in Mahe and Yanam, convener of the PWA and Secretary of the Puducherry unit of the CPI R Viswanathan, who presided over a joint meeting of the PWA, told reporters.
Leaders of Puducherry unit of the DMDK did not attend the meeting.
Viswanathan said the constituencies to be contested by each party would be decided later.
