CMF began paddy procurement from yesterday instead of December 1 as announced earlier, and will continue till January 31, 2016, a federation official said.
The first day saw procurement of about 1,08,460 quintal produce of the farmers in 20 districts of the state.
The federation had set up 1,976 procurement centres under 1,287 primary agricultural cooperative societies set up across the state.
The state government had fixed the MSP of common variety paddy at Rs 1,410 per quintal and grade A variety grain at Rs 1,450 per quintal, he said.
