Leander Paes and Sania Mirza smoothly moved into the China Open quarterfinals with partners in their respective events, here today.
Top seeds in the men's doubles, Paes and his Canadian partner Daniel Nestor easily brushed aside the challenge of Americans John Isner and Sam Querrey 6-2 6-2 in their opening round of the hard court tournament.
Paes and Nestor saved all three break points they faced, including two in the opening set and broke their rivals twice in each set for an easy win.
In the women's doubles, eight seeded Sania and Cara Black got past Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic 6-3 6-2.
They will next face Chinese Taipei's Yung-Jan Chan and Jie Zheng, who was Sania's partner recently.
