Pak army chief calls on Sharif, discusses security issues

Pakistan army chief today called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed internal and regional security issues, ahead of the Premier's US visit later this month where he will take up alleged ceasefire violations by India with American leadership.
In the meeting, General Raheel Sharif also briefed the Prime Minister regarding his visit to Germany and Britain where he addressed various forums and also talked about Pakistan's ties with India and Afghanistan.
They also discussed progress made during Operation Zarb-i-Azb so far and the security situation at the Pak-Afghan border and in North Waziristan.
The external security situation at eastern and western borders also came up in the meeting.

The army chief's meeting with Sharif came just a day after the Premier decided to take up the alleged ceasefire violations by India along the Line of Control and working boundary with US leadership during his visit to Washington on October 22, the Dawn reported.
The Prime Minister had yesterday discussed his upcoming US visit with key aides and top ministers of his cabinet.
