Pak military operation kills two soldiers, seven terrorists

At least two Pakistani soldiers and seven Ubzek terrorists were killed today in the ongoing military offensive against local and foreign militants in the restive North Waziristan tribal region.
Two soldiers died while seven Ubzek terrorists were killed, military spokesman Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said.
The operation Zarb-e-Azb continues to achieve its objectives and is progressing well, he said.
Pakistan launched a full-scale military operation against the local and foreign militants on June 15 in the lawless tribal region once considered as the stronghold of al-Qaeda linked rebels.
The towns of Miranshah, Mirali, Boya, Degan and area up to Dattakhel have been cleared while clearance of villages such as Momin Gul Ziarat, Darpakhel, Tappi, Spalga and south of Tochi River is in progress.
The officer said while the clearance of road Miranshah- Dattaakhel was in progress, a snap operation was also being carried out on Uzbek terrorists hideouts by in Datta Khel Bazar.
He said 75 rockets, large number of IEDs and suicide jackets were recovered from Shahbaz Khel in Mirali, besides a bomb making factory discovered in Umer Ki Kalli, located in the outskirts of Mirali.
The army said more than 570 terrorists had been killed so far with around 100 hideouts being destroyed, resulting in the death of at least 36 security personnel.
