The Border Security Force (BSF) Thursday apprehended a Pakistani national from Kutch district in Gujarat for entering India illegally, officials said.
He was identified as Mohammad Shan, a resident of Punjab province in Pakistan, they said.
"The Pakistani national was apprehended when he tried to enter India after crossing border fence. He was held from near the border pillar number 1123," BSF DIG G S Mallik said.
He has been handed over to the police and will be interrogated by various security agencies at Joint Interrogation Centre in Bhuj, BSF sources said.
Intruders, who generally try to enter India through Kutch region, are from neighbouring Sindh province of Pakistan. However, this man is from Punjab province, BSF officials said.
