The remarks was made by a senior Pakistan foreign ministry official who dismissed Indian army chief Gen Dalbir Singh's comments that India is prepared for short wars, The Express Tribune reported.
Accusing Pakistan of using "new methods" for creating unrest in Jammu and Kashmir and extending the arc of violence to other areas, Gen Singh yesterday said India is prepared for "swift and short" wars in the future.

The official said that Pakistan was capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any foreign aggression, particularly from India, the paper reported.
Pakistan has yet to make a formal reaction to Gen Singh's comments.
Last week Defence Minister Khawaja Asif ruled out the possibility of a "limited war" between Pakistan and India, saying "there is no space for a limited war. Any attack on us will depend on Pakistan's choice of response and timing.
