Pakistan Army chief appoints his Chief of General Staff

Making his first appointment, Pakistan's new Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif today selected Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmad as his Chief of General Staff.
Before his promotion to the rank of Lt Gen, Ahmad was Director General Military Operations (DGMO) for over two years. He remained DGMO till August this year.
Lt Gen Ahmad has commanded a strike Infantry Division and led successful military operation in Swat.
He has also been Chief of Staff of a strike Corps, a statement released by the military said.
