India vs Pak: Rain plays spoilsport again; match reduced to 48 overs a side

Sharma scored 77 off 108 balls and Dhawan scored 68 off 65 balls

Rain brought the high-octane India-Pakistan Champions Trophy match at Edgbaston to yet another halt. India stood at  173/1 runs in 33.1 overs.

The match has been reduced to 48 overs a side.

Rohit and Dhawan made 136 runs in their opening partnership. Dhawan got caught on the boundary by Azhar ali of Shadab Khan after scoring 68 runs of 65 balls. Dhawan had hit six fours and one six. When play stopped, Sharma was playing at 77 and Kohli at 24.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field against India here on Sunday. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for India. 

India went in with five specialist bowlers including all- rounder Hardik Pandya with Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammad Shami missing out.


Among the batsmen, Kedar Jadhav was picked ahead of Dinesh Karthik.
