The activists of the Panda community burnt the effigy of Adityanath, deeming his order as against them.
The chief Minister, during his maiden visit to Agra, had ordered to take action against touts and Pandas of Mathura as "they are creating nuisance to pilgrims".
Rakesh Tewari, who was leading the programme, said, "The Tirth Purohits would oppose the draconian order tooth and nail."
However, he said if the order is against the touts who are instrumental for inconvenience to the pilgrims, they have no objection.
"The agitation would be intensified if the draconian order is not withdrawn," Mahesh Pathak, national president of All-India Tirth Purohit Mahasabha, said.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against Tara Chand Goswami and over two dozen others who had yesterday burnt the effigy of the chief Minister in Vrindaban.
