"Parrikar is a part-time Defence Minister, who is always focused towards Goa and the state level issues. By doing this, he has been neglecting the issues of national interest," Congress Goa spokesperson Sunil Kawathankar said.
"We will be writing to the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) stating that India cannot afford to have a part-time Defence Minister. The national security is of the utmost important," he said.
Parrikar, a senior BJP leader, was the Goa Chief Minister before taking up his assignment at the Centre.
