The BJP today alleged that its workers were being killed in West Bengal due to the "frustration" of the ruling Trinamool Congress, which was "disturbed" by the saffron party's growth in the state.
"Disturbed by growth of BJP in Bengal, TMC goons are resorting to brutal killings of BJP workers in Bengal. The hooliganism of TMC will not be tolerated and we will fight to free Bengal from the appeasement politics of TMC (sic)," BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said in a series of tweets.
He added that the people of the state would give a befitting reply to the Mamata Banerjee-led party.
Speaking to reporters, West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh alleged that the police in the state were not working in an impartial manner.
"The police is reluctant to catch the culprits as they are associated with the TMC. But, this politics of annihilation of the opposition will not be tolerated by the people of the state," he said.
