An examination of his baggage revealed four plastic containers containing coloured fluid kept in condoms, customs sources said.
The passenger, hailing from Kasaragod, arrived here by Air India Express flight at 1.15 AM.He was intercepted at the exit gate at Nedumbassery airport when he was passing through the green channel on suspicion he was carrying contraband.
An examination of the containers' revealed that it contained a highly corrosive fluid with powdered gold dissolved in it. The total weight of fluid with dissolved gold amounts to 5.345 kg, they said.
This is the first time that liquid gold has been seized from a passenger at the international Airport here.
