Director James Wan is also set to return for the second instalment of the horror movie, reported Ace Showbiz.
The first film made on a budget of USD 1.5 million went on to earn USD 97 million worldwide.
Original screenwriter Leigh Wannell has written the script for the movie, while Jason Blum will also resume producing duties.
Although an exact date of filming is not known, it is planned for release on August 30, 2013.
It is also unknown how the story will progress from the first film.
Patrick Wilson was last seen in "Alien" prequel "Prometheus" and is also lined up for a starring role in "The Conjuring", while Rose, who had a spectacular 2011 with "X-Men: First Class" and "Bridesmaids", has recently completed roles in "I Give It A Year" and "The Internship".
