"These (Pawar's remarks) are election remarks. Pawar is doing whatever is needed to win elections. Even he knows that this government will complete its term," state BJP president Raosaheb Danve told reporters here.
"Congress and NCP want that the BJP-Shiv Sena government should not complete its term. But I can assure you that this government will last the full five year term," Danve said.
Pawar had yesterday said the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance will break ahead of Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections slated in early 2017.
The Bandra election will prove to be a turning point for Maharashtra politics, Pawar had said.
Sena president Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to address a poll rally tonight for Sena candidate contesting the bypoll against Rane.
