Speaking at the 11th meeting of the Inter State Council in New Delhi, Narayanasamy said there was need for the Centre to bear the burden "so that we would be able to implement our developmental schemes without any curtailment of funds".

Listing the achievements of Puducherry in various sectors, he sought early clearance for water supply and sanitation project in the Union Territory to be taken up at a cost of Rs 2120 crore and the project would be funded through assistance from the Agence Francaise De Developement (a France based financial institution).
