The global programme was also open to developers interested in creating tech-based solutions for challenges faced by the NGOs, PayPal said in a statement.
"Opportunity Hack" is a global programme of PayPal which is a community initiative in California. The event was introduced in India in 2014. The company has an employee base of over 1,200 across the country.
"In 2015, nearly 240 developers clocked about 8,600 hours to help 26 NGOs develop technology based prototypes to solve real world challenges," it said.
Some of the solutions taken up during the previous editions of Opportunity Hack were development of a mobile app to volunteer management for Blue Cross of India and an SMS based intervention system for liquor addicts in collaboration with TTK Hospitals.
