Addressing a gathering at the site of the demonstration, the MLA, Seema Devi, said unless illegal mining is completely banned and plying of heavy vehicles is not stopped, she will continue her protest against the Akalis.
Several BJP supporters joined the dharna and tried to block the vehicular traffic from both sides of Punjab and Jammu National Highway, she said.
Government officials assured her to solve her grievances, but she turned down their request.
Navjot Kaur had recently staged hunger strike at Amritsar protesting discrimination in release of grants for her Assembly constituency by the Parkash Singh Badal government.
