The Press Council of India (PCI) today condoled the untimely demise of an Indian Express photographer Ravi Kanojia, saying the media world has lost a "fine professional" who always put his duty before self.
In a condolence message, PCI Chairman Justice (retd) C K Prasad said that Kanojia, who won 'Creative Excellence' award of the Press Council in 2014 for his news photography, had made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of his profession.
Kanojia was electrocuted when he came in contact with high tension electricity line, taking pictures of the stranded water train at Jhansi Railway Station.
In a message on Twitter, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore expressed grief at the "loss of young and promising Talent in Ravi Kanojia."
"Strength to his family," Rathore said in his tweet.
