"I met the Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) and told him that we should strive to take forward the dialogue process with Pakistan. It is on the brink of electing a new government and there will not be General Musharraf now. So, comprehensive dialogue process with the new government there should go on," PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said while addressing a public meeting here.
Sayeed said there is a need to take Jammu and Kashmir out of the prevailing situation of uncertainty by winning people's hearts and minds.
Sayeed said when the PDP was in power, it had a vision of peace and prosperity for the state but that vision was left midway like a "boat in a stream" when the new government took over the reins.
"That vision for the future of Jammu and Kashmir has to be taken to its logical end. People now have realised that the boat is still there where it was left by PDP, and only PDP can take it forward to the ultimate goal of peace and prosperity," he added.
