People's Democratic Party (PDP) today appealed to all, including state governments, NGOs and industrialists, to come forward to help the people trapped in floods in the state.
"We appeal to state governments, people, NGOs, industrialists, National Disaster Management Agencies and other crisis related agencies to come forward for immediate help to the people of Jammu and Kashmir trapped in floods in the state," PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said.
"We are in immediate need of boats, tents and rubber boots to evacuate thousands and thousands of people from submerged areas where buildings have started to collapse," he said in a statement.
"We have opened Camp Office at Jammu and Kashmir House, Kautilya Marg, New Delhi, for collection of relief materials and volunteers are needed urgently," Mufti said, mentioning the contact number 09419021682 (Nayeema Ahmed Mahjoor).
