"PDP is the carbon copy of the RSS which is trumpeting the monologue of Nagpur (RSS headquarters) and furthering its interests overtly and covertly," NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said at a joint rally with Congress for the alliance candidate and Pradesh Congress Committee chief G A Mir in Anantnag district.
He said PDP stands "exposed" for facilitating the RSS "to spread its tentacles, first by inducting its political constituent BJP into the (state) government and now by vitiating the atmosphere on communal and regional lines".
While NC president Farooq Abdullah is contesting from Srinagar, Mir is the alliance candidate from Anantnag constituency.
Sagar said after the electoral victory in Uttar Pradesh and appointment of a hardcore pracharak as Chief Minister, the RSS is "emboldened to the extent of spreading its tentacles subtly in the state".
"NC stood vindicated the day PDP offered an olive branch to the BJP while forming the government as it always believed the former to be creation of agencies at the behest of top RSS leaders," he said.
"The BJP has been claiming privately that the vote to PDP will be recognition to RSS presence in the Valley. Their monstrous growth and advance can be stopped only when the people of Kashmir get united and show their strength through ballot to negate anti-Kashmir policies," Sagar said.
Urging the people to exercise their democratic right carefully, Mir said "fascist forces" have no place in Kashmir that has been an abode of saints and sages for centuries.
"By pretending to be anti-BJP before the elections, the PDP not only hoodwinked public opinion in the Valley but also became instrumental in strengthening saffron brigade in Jammu," Mir claimed.
