Jammu and Kashmir's ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) has deferred its foundation day celebrations by a day to avoid a clash with the Friday prayers.
"The foundation day celebrations will be held tomorrow. It was postponed in view of today being Friday as the functions normally end late in the afternoon and people have to offer prayers," PDP general secretary Nizamuddin Bhat told PTI.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the PDP president, is out of town today.
PDP was formed on 28 July 1998.
