"Copies of the 'Self Rule' resolution will be formally sent to the Prime Minister and other political parties of the country," PDP spokesman Nayeem Akhtar said, on the occasion of the party's 13th foundation today.

PDP's 'self-rule' formula aims at creating Jammu and Kashmir as a bridge between India and Pakistan where both the countries would offer tariff reductions and develop the region as a Free Trade Zone.

PDP, which was formed in 1999 and led the state government in coalition with the Congress party for three years till 2005, today celebrated its 13th foundation day with a large rally at TRC ground in the heart of the city here.

Senior PDP leaders, including party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and its president Mehbooba Mufti, addressed the rally of several thousand party workers.

Mehbooba launched a scathing attack on the ruling National Conference accusing it of widespread corruption and "subverting the democracy".

She said the state is facing challenges on multiple fronts like growing unemployment of youth, declining healthcare facilities and slow paced development.

"These are our challenges. Our youth is unemployed, our villages are without clean drinking water, our towns are without electricity," she said.

"There is corruption everywhere, on every step. You are supposed to pay (bribe) for every work," Mehbooba alleged. MORE
